Celebrate May Day as communities have for centuries with Maypole dancing, Morris-dancing, a Spring play, music and merriment! We have fairground rides, have a go archery, pony rides and circus skills with Monty the Jester.
Lots to see and do for all the family, chat to historical re-enactors in the historic houses and find out more about how life was lived in times gone by, stroll around the grounds and explore our historic buildings. We are having a BBQ and the tearoom will be open too.
One of our biggest events in the calendar, this promises to be a wonderful event of some of our most time-honoured folk traditions.
Normal museum admission applies, some activities on site do have an additional charge.
Entry to the May Day event is at the normal Museum admission price: £11 (including Gift Aid) for adults, £9.90 for seniors and £6.60 for children. Annual group membership, allowing up to 5 people entry to the Museum and non-ticketed events, is available at £55.
