Tarantism — a psychological illness characterized by an extreme impulse to dance.
Do you know anyone that suffers from Tarantism?
If so send them down to Suki10c to see a specialist!
So here we are at number 004 of Birmingham's hardest & weirdest club night Tarantism. Bringing it to you guys proper again we have the following ready to smash it up for aother mental night not to miss.
The Doubtful Guest (Planet Mu)
Again we are very pleased to have another personal hero play Tarantism & this time its the Doubtful Guest. Libby started off as a classically trained opera singer living in Chicago but then found herself down in London. Here she began piecing together acid that blurred normal boundaries & encompassed a vast amount of styles. In sets you will hear fierce onslaughts of 303 driven rave, Roland tweakery, dark synths, dub, drum & bass, straight up 200 bpm gabba & of course lovely squelchy acid. Check out the link below to hear a condensed 20 minutes of Doubtful Guest madness.
Skitzaph0nic (Legs Akimbo / Amen-Talist)
Releasing some incredible tunes on top labels such as Legs Akimbo, Battle Audio, Splatterkore & Amen-Talist Skitzaph0nic is properly killing it. Stopping off at Tarantism for a warm up before a big Boomtown set the man in the white mask will be taking no prisoners. Expect heavy drum & bass, hardcore, crossbreed, amens & lots of kicks.
Warped Dynamics (Beat Lab)
Again the mission to bring proper jungle to Birmingham continues & this time with the amazing Warped Dynamics. Chris & Scott met at a hardcore breaks rave in London in 2007 & by 2009 had their first 12" out. They produce beautiful amen heavy jungle & hands in the air piano driven hardcore. We honestly don't know why these guys arn't on more line ups but we are very very excited to have them play Tarantism.
We met Podzim & his crew at the Newquay Bangface weekender & it has been tradition to make sure we meet at every weekender since. Making the trek from Sweden Podzim will be making his international debut at Tarantism & we are very pleased to be making it happen. Expect a potent blend of 8-bit juke, jungle, breakcore & hardcore.
Gigue (Planet Mu)
Coming in from USA Gigue will be providing us with a soundtrack of pounding hard driven acid that fans of the AFX Analord series will really enjoy. With releases on Planet Mu Gigue will be making the floor melt with all kinds of acidic lovelyness.
Gblnf^ce (Slack / Crack Zombie)
The enigma that is Gblnf^ce finally makes it to Tarantism! Expertly producing under a few different aliases, you can expect jungle, idm, ragga, footwork & juke that will really make use of the soundsystem at Suki10c.
Our resident techno badboy Vashthestampede will be getting you all squelchy & then stomping you down again with his grand acid techno selections.
Tanooki Suit (Tarantism / Wastegash soundsystem)
Likes to play loud fast distorted noises to anyone that will listen. Even to people who don't. GABBA.
