Our Fun Days at The Engine House Visitor Centre are the perfect way to keep kids entertained this summer holidays!
Every Wednesday from August 2nd — 30th August, we'll be hosting a range of family-friendly, themed activities.
Take part in our quiz, enter the Name the Teddy competition and get creative with our crafts and colouring table. There'll also be face-painting, glitter tattoos and giant outdoor games (weather dependant).
On Wednesday 2nd & 9th August we'll be welcoming some very special guests — Meet a Greyhound and find out about these wonderful dogs, courtesy of the Greyhounds Trust.
Visitors can also create their very own piece of enamelled jewellery (necklaces and earrings £5 each) thanks to Highley craftswoman Ann Jones, who will be demonstrating enamelling techniques and bringing her own kiln.
While at The Engine House, take some time to explore a wealth of interactive exhibits and outdoor adventure play area. Jump on the footplate of a steam locomotive and sort the mail in our travelling post office Mail Train and meet the engine that collided with a camel!
Not only that, but kids Eat FREE every Friday in August at our Flag & Whistle Food Stop. One children's meal free with the purchase of an adult main meal.
Normal fares to travel on our steam trains apply and tickets free include admission to the Fun Days at The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley. Our £44 Family Summer Saver ticket & Annual Family Pass is valid!
Residents living in Highley can gain free entry to The Engine House without purchasing a travel ticket, during the summer holidays. Proof of address must be shown on entry.
