Threaded have released their new album 'Fair Winds and Following Seas', and would love you to join them for their launch tour!
'Threaded are a midlands based trio consisting of Jamie Rutherford (guitar and vocals), Ning- ning Li (violin) and Rosie Bott (clarinet) and in 2015 released their debut album 'of what we spoke' produced by Joe Broughton (The Urban Folk Quartet). It was given 4 stars by R2 (Rock 'n' Reel) Magazine; described by FATEA magazine as 'an impressive and stimulating debut disc from three very talented musicians' and by fROOTS as 'a thrilling musical ride, where inventive and melodically interesting tune- medleys alternate with thoughtful, quirky self-penned songs.'
They have recently just released their second album 'Fair Winds & Following Seas'
«Enjoying Fair Winds and Following Seas is like an evening spent at the best of dances among the best of company – you leave feeling fresh, elated, and eager for more.» Folk Radio UK
The band perform in a variety of different venues, from Arts Centres to Folk Clubs, and have performed at many festivals across the UK. Their music has been played on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Shropshire.''
Threaded are all graduates of the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire, and have all been members of Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, with whom they have played stages such as The Royal Albert Hall and Symphony Hall, and at festivals such as Cropredy, Shambala, Kendall Calling, Towersey and Green Man.'
We are really lucky to have the brilliant Jack Cookson supporting us for this gig!
'Jack is a multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter from the South West. His distinct style combines his deeply articulate lyrics with memorable melodic hooks and intricate, fingerstyle guitar arrangements, influenced by roots music from both sides of the Atlantic. He has shared the stage with the likes of Franz Nicolay (Against Me!/The Hold Steady), Cory Branan and Austin Lucas, and in early 2016 he was announced as one of the final four nominees for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.
Over the past 2 years, he has played over 200 shows, both headline and support, and is now currently working on a follow up EP to his debut album, «Revolt & Resolve» (2015). Other releases include a split with Ieuan Williams (2014), and debut EP «Five Times» (2012).'
We are really excited to be playing at the Kitchen Garden Cafe for the one and only hometown gig of this current tour, we would love to see you there and celebrate!
