A chance to sit back and relax with nibbles under the stars and enjoy the wartime romantic drama Their Finest in the grounds of Avoncroft museum.
This witty, romantic drama set in 1940 stars Gemma Arterton as Catrin, a newly appointed scriptwriter for propaganda films during the Blitz. Catrin joins a makeshift cast and crew including fellow screenwriter Sam Claflin and eccentric veteran actor Bill Nighy, as they set out to raise the nation’s morale and inspire America to join the war through the magic of cinema.
The team must struggle against the sexism of the film industry, political interference in their artistic decisions, and endure the air raids of Blitz-hit London to realise their vision. Based on the novel by Lissa Evans, Their Finest is a witty and moving drama about a young woman finding her voice in changing times, and the love which blossoms from the chaos of war.
Sit back and relax on the Guesten Hall lawn with your bubbles and snacks, and enjoy the magic of the movies under the stars!
