We turn the clocks back to the 1940s with this light-hearted journey back to wartime Britain.

With a fantastic selection of daytime attractions up and down the line, get dressed up and join in with the celebrations with costumed re-enactors on our stations and in our trains helping to tell the wartime story! The return of the Battle, Big Band Show and a whole host of other much-loved attractions will keep you entertained.

Attractions include:
— Winston Churchill & King George VI in attendance.
— Musical entertainment up and down the line.
— Costumed re-enactors.
— Beware of the Spivs!
— Intensive steam train service.

Kidderminster:
— Visit our Hairdresser to get your 'Victory Rolls' spruced up.
— Free Vintage Bus Rides.
— Exhilarating firefighting reenactment and a display of firefighting vehicles, courtesy of NFS & AFS Vehicles Group.
— Shop display at Kidderminster- ration books at the ready!
— Vintage clothing stalls.
— Air Raid Shelter.
— ARP Post.
— Vintage vehicles on display.
— Tobacconist.
— Wave the evacuees off, as they head into the countryside to safety.
— Closing ceremonies

Bewdley:
— Vintage vehicle display.
— To mark the 100th anniversary of the creation of the RAF, visit the replica of the Mk X1 Spitfire flown by the famous James Edgar 'Johnnie' Johnson — the highest scoring RAF pilot to survive the war. Wear the uniform supplied by the owners and have your photo taken beside this iconic fighter. Due to it's full schedule, this will be with us on June 30th and July 1st ONLY.
— Vintage stall selling clothing and memorabilia.

Arley:
— Hospital train housing the Royal Army Medical Corps Hospital.
— To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, visit the historically significant Edith Cavell Van — the wagon that in 1919 brought back the body of Nurse Edith Cavell from Belgium where she had helped 200 POW's escape before she was caught and executed. In 1920 the same wagon brought back the body of the 'Unknown Warrior' prior to a funeral at Westminster Abbey representing the many who died without identification.
— Vintage caravan and vehicle display.
— Become the ‘guests’ at a wartime wedding on the platform on all dates. Have you packed your confetti?
— Our resident singer Kevin Mack, the ‘1940s Crooner’, will be transporting you back to the 1940s with his repertoire of catchy and nostalgic numbers as the trains steam by.

Highley & The Engine House:
— The Battle returns: it's two days after the Normandy Invasion, and a German Troop train is about to be attacked by Allied Paratroopers and members of the French Resistance…rest assured this will be an explosive encounter that you won’t want to miss.
— Vintage Marketplace in The Engine House with vintage civilian clothing, vintage uniforms, homewares and vintage prints.
— Display of military vehicles adjacent to the signal box and the Allied’s Encampment next to the station.
— Visit King George VI's Royal Saloon.
— Live entertainment.

Hampton Loade:
— Paddock Miniature Railway.
— Classic vehicles from the period will be on display, as well as motorcycles.
— Watch the Home Guard unit as they carry out target and bayonet practice as their part of defending the Home Front.

Bridgnorth:
— Enterainment provided by the D-Day Darlings each morning and early afternoon.
— Here also add that 'visitors can witness the arrival of evacuees into the safety of their temporary homes in the country.'

Big Band Shows — June 30th & July 7th
Our 'Big Band Show' features a fantastic jazz orchestra alongside special guests playing tunes from the 1940s.
A big favourite for many, the evenings are sure to get you singing along and getting those feet tapping during our party on the platform! They'll even be a selection of patriotic flag waving numbers which you know you can't resist…
Real ale will be served in the King & Castle, with hot food available from the Valley Suite.
The night is sure to go out with a bang...an air-raid is looming!
The show begins at 7.30pm. These shows are ticketed events. You will need to purchase wristbands if you wish to attend (daytime travel tickets not valid).
