In 2016 we kicked off the #RadicalChildcare learning community to open up themes of the #RadicalChildcare project for discussion, hosting conversations around the research and ideas behind the project as it grows. Our first four were an eclectic mix of multimedia and hosts, check out the previous sessions and content here. We are excited to launch a new series of learning circle sessions this Spring as we continue to develop and grow the #RadicalChildcare movement.
The #RadicalChildcare Learning Circle is a 21st Century multimedia book club.
It's a place where we can digest and interrogate current thinking, academic research, TED talks and podcasts in a supportive informal community of learners, experts and th...e curious. Join the #RadicalChildcare Facebook group and look out for learning community meetups
The Harlem Children’s Zone is a non-profit education organisation whose holistic, birth-through-college approach to breaking the cycle of poverty has attracted attention from communities around the world. The organisation’s phenomenal success has been chronicled in many of the nation’s most-respected media including The New York Times Magazine, 60 Minutes, Wall Street Journal, Anderson Cooper’s 360°, Washington Post and NPR’s This American Life. As a living laboratory, HCZ has been visited by hundreds of communities eager to replicate its model and is the inspiration for President Obama’s Promise Neighborhoods initiative. The Harlem Children’s Zone model was pioneered by the organisation’s renowned President, Geoffrey Canada, who was featured in the documentary Waiting for ‘Superman’, the book Whatever It Takes and was recently named one of the world’s best leaders by Fortune magazine.
