The Bitter Suite Micro-Pub on St John Street (by the Railway Bridge) is one of the most historic pubs in Lichfield. Originally called the Bridge Tavern, it was a favourite place for train travellers, locals, visitors and community groups, especially football committees and darts leagues! This talk tells you the history of the pub, its landlords and landladies (including the tragic tale of the Gething family) and also describes the story of the brewing trade in Lichfield, home to two influential breweries, the Lichfield Brewery Company and the Lichfield City Brewery. This talk lasts an hour, the ticket price includes a free drink of your choice, and some fabulous bar snacks! Spaces are limited and booking is essential and highly recommended!
