Do you have a budding young sewing machinist? Does your child have a sewing machine and would love to learn how to make on it? Get them making and practising with my Mini Machinist sessions!
Scrunchies are back, and the perfect way to add a bit of colour and pattern to an outfit! In this fun workshop, your child will learn how to make them or a elasticated headband.
WHAT THEY’LL LEARN:
How to use a pattern
How to make a seam
How to use elastic
Fabric pressing (using an iron)...
Threading through a channel
Sewing machines will be provided, but if they have one of their own, they can bring it along and the session will give them the confidence to carry on creating at home.
Please bring some fabric in a chosen colour and pattern — 1 fat quarter (50x56cm approx.) will be enough to make scrunchies and a headband — I will bring a variety of fabrics to choose from if preferred on the day, at an additional cost. Everything else- other materials, and tools, will be provided!
This session is suitable for children 10+ or 8+ with prior sewing machine experience. Places are extremely limited to provide the attention required to each participant, and ensure their safety.
Please note- a risk assessment can be provided on request due to the equipment we will be working with.
£12 per child
This includes full tuition, all other materials, use of sewing machines and a pattern with full instructions to keep. Plus refreshments throughout the afternoon!
A Mini Machinist kit, which includes:
a pair of child friendly scissors
a tape measure
a wheel of pretty pins
a seam ripper/quick unpick
for a special price of £4.50 (save 20% on the usual individual prices) will also be available on the day for your child to carry on making at home!
To book: please send me a message or pop into Crafty Happenings- payment in full secures your place.
