In 2016 we kicked off the #RadicalChildcare
learning community to open up themes of the #RadicalChildcare project for discussion, hosting conversations around the research and ideas behind the project as it grows. Our first four were an eclectic mix of multimedia and hosts, check out the previous sessions and content here. We are excited to launch a new series of learning circle sessions this Spring as we continue to develop and grow the #RadicalChildcare movement.
The #RadicalChildcare Learning Circle is a 21st Century multimedia book club.
It's a place where we can digest and interrogate current thinking, academic research, TED talks and podcasts in a supportive informal community of learners, experts and the curious. Join the #RadicalChildcare Facebook group and look out for learning community meetups
This week we interrogate a report by Shift in partnership with NCT. Shift are a charity that designs products and builds social ventures to help solve social problems. NCT describe themselves as “Here to support parents. We give them accurate, impartial information so that they can decide what’s best for their family, and we introduce them to a network of local parents to gain practical and emotional support.”
We aim to kickstart a reflection on the report, its findings and ask you to also reflect on the products for parents. Who benefits, who are they for and what are the products that empower you, as a parent or otherwise?
We invite you to familiarise yourself with some of the reports and links below in advance of the session.
